In Reflection: Retouching Retreat Cape Town

One of the best things I like about the industry has been the people I’ve met over the years. It’s such a funny thing, because retouching is often an isolated profession. This digital world is how we connect and often communicate when we’re apart from the friends we meet in the field. However, I always have this pull to bridge that gap and spend time making real connections! Retouching Retreats have been my way of doing just that.

Just recently, Felix Kunze and I decided to do a joint one in Cape Town (link). As he often frequents the city, I knew that seeing his passion for it through his eyes and with keen creatives would be an unforgettable experience. For a few beautiful days in the heart of January, we started the year off right and everyone who got a chance to be a part of this trip came to South Africa!

Felix crafted a beautiful itinerary for us and we maximized each day exploring and loving life together. It was a break from our lives and we ate the best foods, drank the best array of wine and coffees, and saw all the sunsets imaginable.

Below is a little slice of life in Cape Town. A magical place that I hope everyone gets to explore once in their life. It’s a city that feels like it shouldn’t exist from how beautiful it is.
