Our first Retouching Retreat of 2020 is here!
It’s in glorious Cape Town, South Africa.
This time, I’m co-hosting with my great friend, Felix Kunze!
Felix is not only someone who I work with, but he’s an amazing human being and so much fun to be around! He exemplifies everything I love about the community and doing a retreat with him in South Africa made perfect sense. Felix often frequents Cape Town and being able to see the beautiful city with him at the helm is a perfect backdrop to this event. This will be our first international Retouching Retreat and we are so excited to spend it with you!

Imagine a beautiful place somewhere around the world for a hand-picked group of like minded creatives to share a space for four days. A place to get away, and still stay productive so we don't miss a beat in our busy lives. We'll unwind and still get ahead. We'll work together, have fun together, explore, shoot, and inspire each other. We usually end up bonding so closely as lifelong friends over a course of the week, and each experience is unforgettable. We all bring something unique to the table, so this is not just a getaway, but an opportunity to advance ourselves as creatives as well.
We'll work and enjoy ourselves till late in the evening and it will basically be a glorified work party! So come, learn, unwind, get ahead, and grow with us!
That is what retouching retreats are. As a retoucher, being able to work with friends and explore with them is a dream.

The Space

What To Expect
Just like the description mentioned, this is an open ended event where our main focus is working and exploring together. Bring your laptop, your files, and your camera. The space is catered to be a perfect place to unwind yet still foster creativity and productivity. Our table is the heart of it all, where we'll work and share memories together. In between and throughout the day, we'll also take epic breaks and explore some of the sights of Cape Town! The balance of working and exploring is completely up to the group, and if you so choose to do more of one than the other, you have the full flexibility to explore at your heart’s content or stay inside and work together as a group or individual.
This retreat is what you make of it and it will serve whatever purpose you wish to be there for. We just can’t wait to spend time with you!
Below are some of Felix's favorite locations that we hope to explore. There is no set schedule for each day, but as you can see the open-ended nature of retouching retreats provides a lot of flexibility based on what we all want to do.
Locations
If you’re curious about some of the locations we have on deck to potentially check out, here are a few reasons why Cape Town is our destination of choice. We haven’t even begun to mention the culinary options and variety of food and drink available!
The Roundhouse, Boulders beach (penguins!), Cape point vineyard, Kirstenbosch, Clifton beach, Sunset on the Rocks, West coast Nationalpark, Langebaan Beach, Fransshoek wine country, La petite ferme, Kloofneck hike, Table mountain hike , Signal hill Sunset, and photoshoots on the beach (seals!)
Cost
We have 6 spots available for this retreat
Spots 1 and 2 - This one bedroom has two separate single beds and a private bathroom. You’ll be rooming with a fellow colleague with these spots, but will be introduced to each other prior to to ensure you know your roomate.
Cost - $1,200 each
* Breaks down to $240 per night
Spots 3 - This is the main suite of the house. It has a terrace view, a king bed and a stunning private bathroom. The ultimate way to escape with an uncompromising experience.
Cost - $2,400
* Breaks down to $480 per night
Spot 4 - A beautiful room fitted with a queen bed, en-suite bathroom, and open terrace views. Wake up to stunning views from your bed in this stunning space.
Cost - $1,850
* Breaks down to $370
Spots 5 and 6 - Off Site - As our house is limited in number of rooms, we provide an option to take part in all the fun during the day and night, and stay off-site at the accommodation of your choice nearby. This provides a lower priced option for people who want to join in on the fun, or for people who already live in CapeTown! (You will be responsible for securing an accommodation)
Cost - $850
* Breaks down to $170 per night
*The cost includes stay for the full length of the trip, but does not include food or transportation.
