Cosmetics Company Colour Pop Is Accused Of Using Photoshop To Turn A Model Black

Photoshop detectives, this is a case that needs your keen eye.

Cocoa Swatches is an IG page that features makeup swatches on people of various skin tones. They picked up a Photoshop issue that is questioning whether cosmetics company Colour Pop modified a model's skin color to be darker than it really is.

They claim, "With all the $$ they are making, they couldn't find someone to hire with a dark arm."

There's seemingly a couple of areas that are problematic. The main area of concern was the dark part near the wrist. It indicates there was some masking gone wrong. Basically, you could select just the hand and darken it in Photoshop. It also indicates how much they darkened it since it's a lot darker than the white board itself. Also the wrist/palm area itself does seem to look like it was modified.

Or maybe it's just a piece of dark background and it has nothing to do with the arm itself and everyone is looking into it way too much.

What are your thoughts, is Colour Pop falsely accused of darkening a model's skin tone to make them look black?
