San Miguel Campaign by Joey L
This was a project that I was so excited to work on! It was a lot of hard work - much of it I can't get into - but I am so thrilled they are finally out! These were all shot by photographer Joey L.
Here are some of the images along with the stories behind each of these shots. The stories are verbatim from Joey's social media.
This is Tony Plant (@tony_plant), an artist who uses just a rake and his imagination to make these large scale illustrations in sand. I think he may be communicating with aliens and not telling us.
This is a portrait I shot of professional caver and photographer Robbie Shone @shonephoto in Spain's Cañuela Cave.
I photographed Robbie for a new campaign for San Miguel beer which is highlighting men and women who have devoted their lives to pursuing the most valuable of all things – experiences.
Although we shot this after a long trek at the huge entrance to the cave, my job as a photographer is a lot less daunting compared to Robbie.
He's the real deal and spends days in the darkest depths of the world, squiggling through tiny claustrophobic crevices with his gear, setting up flashes in complete darkness, and creating some incredible photographs. He's also a nice guy and put up with @jessekorman and I's awful jokes.
This is horse whisperer Simin Nadjafi Hinrichs, photographed with an aerial drone as she trained with her horse in the ocean.
