How To Edit Video In Photoshop In 7 Easy Steps

How To Edit Video In Photoshop In 7 Easy Steps

I make a lot of screen recordings that I need to edit quickly. With someone who doesn't have a lot of video experience, I did my best to learn the basics of Premiere. Being that it was a foreign program, there wasn't much familiarity. About the same time, I came across this video from Scott Kelby that showed me it was possible to edit video in Photoshop. It has most of the basic tools you'd need, and you use adjustment layers for grading!

Since you already know how most of the tools work in Photoshop, you can use the same tools to modify the video. For instance, I can easily crop using the crop tool, or add text, etc. It's been really handy to quickly piece clips together, add some music, transitions, title and credit slides, and be done in minutes. I felt like a pro! (Till pros start laughing at me).

So if you're not familiar with Premiere but still want to edit video, this quick video should help get you up to speed.

Is it a replacement for Premiere? Not really, it's more like a stepping stone for people who just want to create. And it doesn't cost extra!

This was one of my favorite features that they brought over to Photoshop and use it regularly.
