About the setup: 
The goal for this series was to create a rich soft natural light to contrast with the lighter tones in the dress. The tapestry backdrop had to have similar tones but create the contrast we wanted.

One light.  The Elinchrom ELC Pro 500 set at .3.  52inch Octa diffused, using a translucent deflector with an added layer of diffusion.

The edge of the Octa in front of the subject approximately 2 1/2 feet away. Angled down and as high as I can go with my 7.8-foot ceiling height.

Camera and lens: 50mm lens at F1.8, iso 50, ss 160.
